As I have written elsewhere, my career has come full circle. My first freelance pieces were reviews of art shows for a local newspaper. And here I am now, writing about arts, antiques, crafts, architecture and design. It's a big beat, as journalists would say, but there is a lot of overlap. For example, I recently wrote an article about a Cape Cod museum that opened for a famed decoy carver. That story covered crafts and antiques.

Often my writing about the categories above has a business slant to it. That comes from my experience as a direct mail copywriter, a business freelancer and a ghostwriter of books on supply chain management, quality control and computer integrated manufacturing.

But now, I will be doing some of the "art" of art as well as the business of art. In addition, I've started drawing again, specifically with colored pencils.
